Silly Scientists
Join us once twice a month as we do kid-friendly science experiments! We’ll talk about the theme of the month and do a matching hands-on activity.
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, October through March @ 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Registration is required.
Youth Spaces
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 while using the library. For more information, please see Child & Vulnerable Adult Policy.
The Youth Rooms are on the ground floor of the Catskill Public Library and toward the back of the Palenville Branch Library. Adults are not permitted to loiter in the Youth Rooms without an accompanying child.
The Teen Spaces are located on the main floor of the Catskill Public Library and in the hall of the Palenville Branch Library.
Youth Collections
Here you’ll find our collections of Early/Easy Readers, Juvenile, and Young Adult materials. Fiction and non-fiction, magazines, DVDs, videogames, audiobooks and music CDs are available for borrowing. Additionally, in-library-use items, including our boardgame collection, reference materials, and computer stations are available for youth use. Youth who wish to borrow from the Library of Things collection must first have a parent, caregiver, or guardian sign an agreement form.
Please note that the Catskill and Palenville Branch Libraries do not and will not age-restrict any library materials or resources. Parents, Caregivers, and Guardians who wish to monitor their children’s library use must accompany their children to the library.
